The Long Way to a Small Place
A demonstration travel note about routes that look inefficient on a map and entirely reasonable through a windscreen.

The direct route is a persuasive little blue line. It knows nothing about weather, light, roadside coffee, or the particular optimism involved in taking an older vehicle somewhere with no reception.
There are journeys for arriving and journeys for rearranging the contents of your head. Confusing the two is expensive, but occasionally worthwhile.
What belongs here
Use this space for a specific place, a real route and the details that survived the trip. The journal is strongest when it observes rather than advertises.
