Foamo Brand Shoot with a bunch of gear

Having just acquired the EF 70-200 f2.8 MK1 IS, I was really looking forward to my next photoshoot. I've worked with Emma before, we did a video shoot for her brand a while back. That was when I was way more into videography than photography. She wanted some photos and showed me some ideas on Pinterest and we got to work.

Emma was amazing to work with, she posed very naturally without much direction or input and had all her props and outfits ready to go.

I did a lot of switching in my kit here. I used two cameras, the R6ii with the aforementioned 70-200, the RF 45mm f1.2, and a Sony A6000 with a 19mm f2.8 for some beautiful flash photography. I haven’t got a flash for the R6ii yet so the Sony was a necessity and honestly we used most of the shots we got out of that camera for the final product. All in all it was fun playing with all of my gear.

I’ve learned that photoshoots like these can be pretty fast paced. It really pays to slow down and enjoy the process, but there will always be time constraints. I think we struck the perfect balance this time, though by the end of it, all I could think to myself was “Oh, are we done already?”

My opinion on props and outfits changed drastically by the end of this shoot. They really change the artistic process of photography. I’ll definitely be exploring more of this in the future.
